A Quick Guide to Three Crystals for Self Love

Love it or loathe we  are in the month were many people celebrate Valentine’s Day, it always seems to come around somewhat quickly don’t you think?  Rather than looking at it from a traditional viewpoint of loving someone out there, I thought I’d take the opportunity and turn tradition on its head and go from looking out there for love to looking inward and loving your-self.

Many people say it is difficult to find the “me” time required to turn inward for some self-loving, so it gets put on the shelf and forgotten about.  But self-loving is so important as it raises the vibration of every cell in your body; it allows you to recognise that you are just as important as all those things, distractions and other people who take up your time.  It tells your whole self that you are worthy and that you honour and value yourself.

With all this self-loving in mind, I have selected three crystals to assist you in healing and loving your very own personal self.

Kunzite is a beautiful crystal that will assist you in healing any underlying emotional problems connected to your heart.

If others have emotionally hurt you in the past, this crystal will serve its purpose by opening your heart.  It lends a hand for self-observation so you are able to recognise, break down and let go of any protective walls that you may have previously built and by doing so you will eventually feel a profound sense of freedom by being able to express your heart felt feelings.

Kunzite loves to heal your emotional self and let joy and happiness flow into your life.

This crystal is like that good friend who ultimately has your best interests at heart.

If you have a tendency to put yourself last or always forget about your own needs then the energy of Rhodonite will encourage you to recognise that doing this is a self-harming habit.

It is a crystal that offers you its heartfelt support, it wants to guide you so you recognise that your own needs are just as important as others, it boosts, nurtures and reinforces feelings of self-love.

Rhodonite is a fabulous crystal that will do its best to remove any self-destructive behaviours and it will work with you, encouraging you to create the time and space for personal care whilst easing in feelings of self-love.

Rose Quartz

One of the most popular crystals related to love; it would be difficult to leave it out, with its beautiful energies it seeks to promote unconditional love.

A truly gentle stone, Rose Quartz will help you in appreciating the true essence of all the love and beauty that is within and beyond you.  It is a crystal to open your heart on all levels.

This loving and giving crystal awakens the knowledge that within you there is deep-seated unconditional love, it has always been there.  This unconditional love is for you yourself also, to love yourself fully despite what you may see as flaws or failures.

Rose Quartz reminds you to love and accept yourself unconditionally.

These are just a few of the many crystals available, which relate to love and the energetic heart, you may be drawn to others if so go with them, trust your instinct and follow your heart.

Three Crystals For When Your Willpower Starts To Wobble

OK so you made a New Year’s resolution you were full of good intentions, you really meant it as the words fell from your mouth.  You still are I hear you say, but the occasional wobble keeps creeping up on you and nearly tipping you over the edge.

The chocolate biscuit shouts “EAT ME” louder by the day!

The trainers for jogging look less appealing by the minute!

Here we have three crystals to assist in boosting your willpower and to see you through to success.  They all can help you to stick to your New Year Resolution, or shall we just say goal as it doesn’t seem quite as daunting as the full-blown hanging around the neck type of RESOLUTION does it?

Tiger eye

If your Solar Chakra becomes unbalanced or weak you may find that your self-discipline is also weakened and that your energy becomes scattered.  When this happens it can be difficult for you to maintain the energy required for self-control and restraint, hence your willpower falls to the wayside.

Tigers Eye is a crystal that will work nicely with your 3rd Chakra (above your navel/belly button) by creating emotional stability and strengthening your resolve and will.  It can be used as an aid for putting to bed any fears of failure that you may be experiencing.

This is a crystal that encourages you to move forward in a most positive way providing the motivation required to achieve your goals including any resolutions that you may have recently made but are struggling to maintain.

Red Jasper

A lively crystal that creates stability and balance by keeping you grounded.  At those times when you find you are drifting from your intended goal this vibrant energetic crystal can be utilised to endow you with the grit, determination and staying power required to keep you on track.

This dynamic crystal has the capacity to help you recognise that it is you and you alone that can bring your goal to fruition, it will assist you with the drive and energy to fend off any stumbling blocks that you may encounter along the way.

Red Jasper is useful if your aim is physical fitness as slowly but surely it will stimulate your stamina whilst boosting your strength and endurance at those times when your energy is low.

Black Onyx

This crystal is a good one to grab when your resolve is dwindling as it has the capacity to increase your strength of character enabling you to sustain an element of self-control.

If you are trying to keep off those chocolate biscuits but your determination is weakening and you are struggling with self-restraint then Onyx is a crystal that will assist you by enhancing your own personal power whilst offering you a constructive outlook and the conviction required for your success.

Black Onyx is quite an unassuming crystal that will support you in maintaining the focus and direction required, along with the staying power and discipline needed to keep you focussed on the task in hand.

So remember if (not when) your willpower starts to wobble like the proverbial summer jelly then using one or all of these crystals will enhance your willpower and provide you with the perseverance necessary in achieving your desired goal or resolution.

Have you used crystals for willpower? I’d love to hear which one you used and how effective they were for you.

Crystals for Colds and Flu

There was I, nose to the grindstone, ploughing my way through the last events of the year, posting packing orders, and greeting the last few clients for treatments before the Christmas break.

By the start of January I was sporting a red nose that Rudolph would have been proud of and feeling as if I’ve been personally selected to be kicked by the hooves of all the reindeers that pulled Santa’s sleigh.

Ok so I didn’t take my own advice of self-care by listening to the needs of my body, I’m human, it happens. I ignored the tell-tale signs, squeezing and stretching out that last bit of energy before the holiday.

If you have pushed the boat out too and forgot to anchor your energy and look after your wellbeing, here are 5 tips to help you get back on track.

1. As soon as you start notice the symptoms of cold or flu treat yourself to a long soak with a really good handful of Pink Himalayan Rock Salt crystals. They will work wonders at detoxifying your entire body whilst easing those aches and pains.

2. Keeping a Fluorite tumble-stone within your Auric field can be used as an aid for dispelling the symptoms that are associated with common colds or flu, especially at the early stages. Fluorite assists by cleansing and purifying.

3. If you are feeling wiped out and lacking energy then a Carnelian crystal will set you on the road to recovery by stimulating your immune system and providing a much needed boost to your life force energy which has probably taken a nose dive.

4. Utilising Clear Quartz when your muscles and bones are aching will serve you well as it’s one of the best crystals around for pain relief and the perfect stone for amplifying the qualities of any other crystals that you may choose to use.

5. Easier said than done I know, but rest as much as you can and drink plenty of fluids. Be kind to yourself, you don’t have to fight through feeling unwell, honour yourself and your body, let it be your guide to your wellbeing.

If you are going to use crystals as a complimentary method of recuperation, wearing them as jewellery, putting them in a pocket or under your pillow are all good ways of receiving their benefits.

If you would like a crystal elixir I’d advocate the indirect method and place your chosen crystal at the side of a glass of water for around half an hour, the water will take on the vibration of the crystal and you will receive the energetic benefits when drinking the water.

Remember to cleanse your crystals frequently whilst using them to recuperate and do not be afraid to use a crystal that isn’t renowned for colds or flu if you feel drawn to it, there will be a reason by it is more suited as we are all different.

Crystals for Christmas Day

Christmas day is like no other and the expectations we place upon ourselves for the day itself can be very weighty. Here are four crystals to consider which can assist you on the festive day itself.

Christmas around the dinner table can sometimes be a fraught affair. If you are having neighbours or extended family joining you it may leave you wondering how everyone will get on.

It’s a great idea to place some Blue Lace Agate around a candle on the dining table, this will encourage friendly discussions and thoughtful conversations allowing everyone to express themselves without the fear of being judged.

You might like to consider Sunstone if Christmas day is not a happy time for you and the whole Christmas experience leaves you feeling sad and blue.
This lovely stone will add a happy warm glow to your day leaving you with a feeling of contentment. Even if you’re just all Bah Humbug, Sunstone will still share with you its cheery disposition.

Amber is for you if you have been up since the crack of dawn watching children open their presents, stuffed the turkey, cooked Christmas day dinner, cleared it all away and are now slumped on the sofa surveying the carnage around you and wondering, who will do the tidying and washing up before the next round starts.

Unfortunately, Amber does not wave a magic wand, but can provide you with that last bit of Va Va Voom energy to get it all done.

If Christmas day has left you fraught and anxious, then choose Lepidolite to provide you with some calm and tranquillity. Keep one in your pocket as a soothing stone to promote emotional stability and balance throughout the day.

This charming crystal will assist you in overcoming the days stresses and strains, leaving you feeling more relaxed and at ease.

Although these crystals can be used as a great support for Christmas Day, don’t forget they are not limited to the day itself, their attributes are there for you all year round.

Please share the post if you find it useful and if in the past, you have used crystals over the Christmas period, I’d love to hear about it and how they helped.

March:~ Let It Go

Well it’s been a busy few weeks, in fact it’s just been none stop busy, and I am going to admit a tad too busy for my liking, do you ever feel that way?  It’s surprising how busyness sneaks up on you really isn’t it, there you are mooching along at a happy rate and suddenly someone somewhere turns up the speed on the conveyor belt of life, you start to smell burning and realise it’s you.. You’ve blown a fuse and everyone around you is hiding for cover, sound familiar?

I’ve fallen off that conveyor belt a couple of times during my life, dusted myself down and got back on before even taking a breath.  Fortunately I have learnt over the years that it’s that jumping back on without looking round and taking in the situation that can lead to burnout.  But this time as I was deeply engrossed in too much busyness a little song started in my head ….Let it go Let it go….you know, the one from Frozen.

It made me sit up and take note, I considered perhaps I wasn’t behaving in a healthy manner and the situation was not good for my well-being.

I hope you too can recognise that little nudge that we all get, be it subtle words or even like myself that song which makes you sit up and notice that life is running  fast forward a tad too much.

So in the meantime, enjoy all that March has to offer and remember if it all gets too much deep breath and  LET IT GO!.

February Where is the love?

Well I don’t know about you, but for me January has been a funny old month.  I could have gone down the hysterical route a couple of times if I had allowed myself, and I don’t mean in the hilarious sense either.  If you’d told me Mercury was in retrograde for the whole month I would have believed you, everything and anything played up.

Now we are here bobbing along into February and I for one am hoping for a smoother ride. With February comes Valentine Day, so come on hands up how many of you know that you are going to be receiving flowers, chocolates, little pieces of jewellery or in the case of a proposal maybe a big piece of jewellery for Valentines.

I had desires for a Valentines demonstration of some sort or another for many a year, about 30 to be precise, (I have a lot of stamina) I waited in vain…it never happened.  My other half never did give way to what he called “commercialism” he just didn’t buy into it.

I remember one time I decided not to bother buying him anymore Easter eggs, I’d done this consistently every year since we met. If you don’t like commercialism I thought, then my Easter egg offering just might make you choke!  Yes I was indignant

It’s so obvious now that I was looking for an outward demonstration of love and relying on Valentine Day for that, it can be difficult watching lines of bouquets arriving in your workplace with friends and colleagues excitedly talking about Valentine weekends away and Valentine meals in or out, whilst in the meantime having nothing to add to the conversation, apart from “Oh that’s nice”.

Eventually I saw the bigger picture and came to a place where I accepted that much love was offered to me every day, if only I’d look.  I didn’t feel the need for a token gesture anymore, I recognised I had someone who stayed through thick and thin, who offered multitudes of little things every day and gave me huge space to grow and just to top it off brought a fantastic sense of humour to the relationship.  Most of all as cliché as it sounds, I found the place to love myself so it was no longer a demand on someone else.

The point I’m making is, rather than projecting outwards on to others for our fulfilment, if we take a deep breath and start to take a good look inside our own self and perhaps ask “why is there this need in me, what is it saying to me?”  We are then able to resolve the anguish that we ourselves create.

When my husband hears it’s so and so day, it does rather irritate him and he still makes comments saying “days for this”, “days for that”, but it doesn’t matter to me any more.

If though, Valentine Day rubs you up the wrong way and you have sentiments like I used to, with tongue in cheek, I found a couple of other “days” in which you can celebrate that may be more acceptable to you or your partner.  Are you ready?

National Frozen Yogurt Day (I kid you not) First Monday in February.

Not quite what you were looking for?  Then how about…..

Open That Bottle Night (Not sure people will wait for this) Last Saturday in February.

Amber a crystal for February

Amber has captivated humans for thousands of years and over that time in medicinal terms has become known as the Elixir of Youth.  Warm to the touch and associated with the sun it is a favourite of many.

It is not strictly a Crystal but is embraced as such due to its fabulous healing qualities and sunny disposition.  Amber is actually a fossilized tree resin which often has insects or plant material entombed within.

This organic resin has been used for centuries as a pain relief and also to boost vitality.  It is believed to remove restrictions and melt rigid attitudes that we ourselves have created.  It also has the ability to protect us against outside influences.  You can place a piece of Amber on your Solar Plexus to enhance creative expression and enthusiasm for life.

Any captured insects or plant material found within the Amber will energetically enhance it with those same inherent qualities.

Visit the Wisdom of Wellbeing shop  or view our newly listed Amber pendants.   Have you seen our February product of the month  there’s a 25% discount using code feb25 at the checkout (until February 28th 2017)

You can also find a page on therapies there too.

So in the meantime, enjoy all that February brings whether it is bouquets of flowers or frozen yogurt.

Wishing you oodles of Crystal Rays and Happy Days,

You Really Should ~ January 2017

YOU REALLY SHOULD ~ or should you really?

So how are the first few days or weeks of 2017 going for you? Did you succumb to making any New Year Resolutions, I say succumb because there is always is an air of expectation in the New Year that you will make one or even two resolutions.   I don’t think I’ve ever got to the end of January without someone asking “What’s your New Year Resolution?”

In the past I have made resolutions without much reflection on the previous year, they were generally made on snap decisions generally based on how I thought I should be or should look.  Have you noticed that quite a few resolutions are based on denying yourself of something or pushing yourself into doing something that you think you should, all because you believe you shouldn’t be like this/that, or shouldn’t have this/that?

That “SHOULD” word pops up quite often doesn’t it? Its sneaky little blighter, it slips into conversation without you even realising.  The word “should” is like a stick to hit yourself over the head with…come on giddy up get going.  It’s like telling yourself off for no reason really, after all a “should” is telling you that you are not good enough as you are or what you have been doing is wrong.  A “should” is actually saying that you don’t really want to do whatever that “should” is.   It’s as if there has been a previous recognition of a need for change which has been quietly ignored.   A “should” is subtly pointing out that at this moment in time; you are not ready to make that change.

I have found that anything based on a “SHOULD” is not “GOOD!”

Resolutions based on a “should” can become a struggle and you can begin to resent doing the said “should”.  “Should” creates an energetic resistance which can become like a boulder to be shoved rather than something to enjoy…. Enough already!

When we come from the view-point of not giving to ourselves our mind and bodies tend to put up a fight and it eventually becomes a struggle, and a battle that we generally lose.  I can recall countless times I have started a resolution from the basis of a “should” only for it to flounder later because deep down, my heart wasn’t in it, it wasn’t really me.  In fact the only resolution which one year stayed with me was when I decided to be kinder to myself and put myself first. I’ve got to say that year was much happier and easier, it lasted because I was giving something back to myself.

I believe more can be achieved especially when relating to New Year Resolutions if we place the emphasis on how we can gently nurture ourselves and what we can do for our own wellbeing in a positive way, rather than coming from a view-point of denying ourselves of something.  When all said and done there’s a great difference between I really should go to the gym (I’m not fit enough, I’m not slim enough, look good enough) to I really fancy trying that, giving it a go (it would be a hoot, I’d enjoy it, it’s a bit of me time, I’ll feel great) and anyhow what’s a few wobbles between friends.

A bit of sweet talk to yourself does no harm, you and your body will undoubtedly respond more positively in the long run.  In a more natural way and in due course the opportunity will arrive to let go of those things that no longer serve you, so come on lets tell that “SHOULD” to just shove off and take it’s stick with it, at least then, when and if you do decide to start something it will have the chance of becoming a healthy habit and not a passing fad.

As for myself I no longer make New Year Resolutions, nowadays I tend to reflect on the year gone by and ask what would I welcome with open arms again, what I would run a mile from, what has made me feel at ease with myself, what have I enjoyed and most of all what have I learned.

It’s something I should have done years ago, oops… did I say “should”

If you have made any New Year Resolutions the crystal below for January is one which will pull out the stops to help and support you…read on.

Christmas Values ~ December 2016

Square Box Round hole

CHRISTMAS VALUES ~ are you looking after yours?

It’s  that time of year when many are being pulled along and getting swept up into the seasonal push of planning and doing all those things that are done every year in offices, shops and organisations across the country perhaps around the world too.  Plans that is, for Christmas parties, nights out, gatherings, gift exchanges, what party frock to wear etc. etc. etc Ok you get the point

I love seeing other people excited….its infectious, it makes me smile, well at least I thought it did until I recalled a period in my life whilst working in a department for a large Company.

Initially the Christmas festivity routine was quite a simple one, going to the pub on closing day if you wanted to, (large emphasis here on IF YOU WANTED TO).  I never did, I was delighted to have finished early on Xmas Eve and just wanted to get home to savour the joy of my young children who yes… would be excited for Christmas….their anticipation was truly infectious.

Over the years the events and expectations of the department changed and grew from just going to the pub on closing day (if you fancied) to –

Official Office Christmas Party (Where you were expected to go),

Unofficial office Christmas Party (you’re a party pooper if you don’t go).

Office Secret Santa (You are expected to participate)

Your work area Secret Santa (Your considered Scrooge if you don’t join in)

Christmas Eve office Party, you know where everyone fetches something in to eat, participates in being jolly and drinks a lot (you’re a miserable sod if you don’t stay behind and enjoy the Christmas Eve drinkathon)

Oh and lest I forget – go to the pub after the office party.

I never had any qualms with the above for those who wanted to; unfortunately I wasn’t one of them and was generally left feeling like a square box trying to fit in a round hole.Bah Humbug

Not everyone wants to participate in festive frolics with work colleagues, and Christmas within the work environment can start to become very difficult. Resentment and conflict can follow; being judgedas a miserable sod is a biggy! BAH HUMBUG

Many who put their heart and soul into organizing Christmas festivities genuinely believe everyone wants to participate, and sometimes great pressure is placed on individuals to do so.  It can become apparent that rejections of their festive plans are taken personally when subtle unwelcome behaviour and innuendos follow.

The title of this blog “Christmas Values” is for a reason, it is a reminder that it is important for each of us to value our own needs and requirements not just at Christmas but throughout the whole year, and to do so without feeling guilty or odd.  Did you know following your own values is one of the healthiest things you can ultimately do for yourself.  So don’t be afraid to take off that woolly coat (bahh) and be who you truly are!  And as if by perfect timing there is an appropriate crystal representing this time of year  which can help and support you….read on

Tanzanite is one of the many stones which represent the month of December and it is the most sought after mineral within the Zoisite family. Having a beautiful blue to violet colour, it emits a sense of calm and tranquillity which is ideal for using or having within the workplace environment, especially when encountering the stress and tensions that prevails around Christmas time.

Naturally releasing any blockages within the throat area this crystal encourages speaking your heart felt truth with confidence and ease whether in the work place or elsewhere. Having a fear of saying how you feel or communicating your truth can affect the throat Chakra, and can eventually cause problems.  Tanzanite has the ability to work through those fears and to overcome those difficulties making it much easier for self expression.  Wow, have there been times when I could have done with a piece of this strapped to my throat! Perhaps a nice necklace might look better.

Apart from the blue-purple colour, Tanzanite can also be found colourless and is sometimes known as a stone of magic.  Nourishing the Crown, Third Eye and Throat simultaneously it brings together all aspects of communication and is a wonderful crystal for speaking and communicating your truth with compassion.

This month’s birthstone for Sagittarius is Turquoise, if you missed the information earlier in the month and would like to read, just click on the picture to be taken there.

If you would like to visit our Wisdom of Wellbeing shop Click Here you can also find a page on therapies there too.

Whether you have Christmas celebrations or not, I wish you a most peaceful and loving time and as always sprinkled with crystal rays and happy days,

Time To Hibernate

It’s November already!!  Crikey Spiky where is this year going? Or should I say where has this year gone? I don’t know about you but I always feel the need to slow down the pace a bit at this time of year,  much like nature itself really, where everything at the moment seems to be winding down for a long hibernation.  Yawn!

It seems so natural at this time of the year to take advantage of the darker nights and poorer weather by cosying up, staying indoors and resting with a hot toddy or a cup of hot chocolate.  On the darker evenings you just want to get home after a long days work, lock the door on the world and put those warm comforting PJ’s on, hoping that no one turns up knocking at the door.

In today’s world though the opportunity for us to slow right down doesn’t quite happen does it?  We seem to do the opposite of what nature is encouraging us to do at this time of the year. What with Halloween and Bonfire night either turning up on the doorstep, Christmas knocking hard on the door too, it actually turns out to be the start of what for a lot of people is the busiest time of the year. (I’ve just flopped on my bed at this point at the sheer thought)

So i thought we’d have a look at a couple of crystals to see where they can assist us when we are unable to take full advantage of with those natural hibernation feelings that we may be encountering at this time of year, due to living life at todays pace.

The secret is in its name, This crystal has oodles of lifeforce energy, delivering feelings of warmth and strength.  Its a great crystal is to give you a boost and re-charge your batteries so to speak on those dark, damp autumnal days.  Sunstone can assist in reducing fatigue and weariness by raising your energy levels.  So at this time of year if you feel you need your batteries recharging this might be the crystal for you, it’s a crystal to keep the joy flowing right through the winter.

Another crystal for this time of year is Citrine this crystal can display the colour of a few lightly turned yellow leaves, right thrCitrineough to the full glory of the deep burnt golden brown of late autumn.  Citrine is a crystal which has the ability to stimulate mental focus and provide endurance, good for when you feel you are clawing your way through the day.  This is the kind of stone you really want as it helps you get through those short days and long nights, with its warm and energizing glow.  During the autumnal days when the sun starts to reduce in the sky Citrine brings in that uplifting solar energy to enhance your well-being.

We have Citrine available in the Wisdom of Wellbeing Shop click here to view

Wishing you crystal rays and happy days,

Is that shop now open?

Hello and Welcome,

Isn’t it amazing what direction life can take you in…..when you let it?   I cannot believe it is only a year since I launched the Wisdom of Wellbeing website based on the therapies I offer, and here I am now with a Wisdom of Wellbeing Shop.

I was initially prompted and prodded to do so after Clients and Customers asked if I had an online shop …..Aha! I thought that makes sense.

There haven’t been any strategic moves or a cunning plan for this new website, no if I’m honest I’ve just gone with the flow, a flow which started in early February and which promptly flew out of the window and was gone by around March.  To put it simply I went with what felt right at that time, meaning the idea of an online shop had to be put on hold, obstacles arose, timing and events did not seem to be in my favour.

So I waited patiently for that flow to return, picking up the baton again so to speak just a few months ago.

Do not let that fool you into thinking it’s all been plain sailing, no, no, nooo, there has been stomping of feet, pulling of hair (mine I hasten to add) and the odd swear word… ok quite a few swear words whilst re-searching how to, when to, and every other to in the dictionary in my quest to create the website myself.  In fact if it hadn’t been for the support and help of my lovely family I would have thrown in the proverbial tissue a while back.  So it s is a very BIG thank you to them.

I found it quite disconcerting how I got lost in time when pursuing a goal and how these sorts of situations can literally take over your entire life.  I remember one evening my dog came over to me whilst I was fixated on the screen of my laptop,  I was working out the how to do’s and when to do’s, he just sat there staring at me.  He never even flinched when I quickly scanned my eyes over him wondering what he was wanting.  What he was wanting of course was his dinner, it was well after 7.30pm and I had been so engrossed in my own world that I had completely forgotten his world and his food.

And so back to the launch and new beginnings ♥

With a Moonstone crystal in hand I invite you to have a browse around the site and just to let you know I will be adding more products over the coming weeks so do keep popping back to see what’s new.

If there are specific crystals you are looking for, or if you would like to see more products of a particular type in the online shop do get in touch and share your thoughts, it would be lovely to hear from you.  Also, please feel free to share with anyone who you think it may be of interest to.

As an opening offer and while stocks last, each new first order will receive a Free 50mm Onyx Egg inclusive of the stand.  Onyx :~ A stone for self-mastery and discipline it assists in keeping your own personal power and not squandering it.

Last but not least

We also offer FREE standard delivery on orders over £40.00

Wishing you Crystal Rays and Happy Days… Lorraine
