Crystals for New Beginnings

There comes a point in everyone’s life where change is inevitable whether this is by choice or on those occasions when it bursts centre stage and you are left juggling with all those things that have been thrown in the air, yes it is true we do not always get to choose our new beginnings.

Whether you have chosen a new path or drama has knocked on your door, here are three crystals you may want to consider to either support or embrace what may be a new beginning for you.

TIGERS EYE ~ Embrace

This is the beginning and as such almost anything is possible when you are willing to have an open mind and the will to embrace the new. Tigers Eye is there to support you every step of the way in your new quest and it will assist you in reaching your desired goal
When we start out on something brand new, it is often difficult to see how circumstances will turn out. With the help of Tigers Eye, you will be supported in determining the difference between what is most beneficial for your new venture and what is just fanciful. This crystal makes you acutely aware of your inner personal needs so to promote clarity with your aims and intentions leading you to make decisions from a place of power and integrity
Embracing this powerful crystal when launching new projects is one will that will assist you in reaching your true desires, diminishing any fears of failure along the way.
Tigers Eye for supporting all new endeavours and boosting your personal power.

MOONSTONE ~ Support

Renowned as the stone of new beginnings Moonstone has the capacity to subdue and take the sting out of any unexpected changes that have brought you to this new path.

Not all new beginnings are perceived as favourable and this crystal is useful in calming and soothing any emotional shock that you may have encountered. It also serves to dampen down any possible overreaction especially whilst you are adjusting to the new situation; it also reminds you that even if you do not see it now, fabulous new beginnings generally follow an ending of some sort.

Moonstone assists in recognising the ebbs and flows of life, it will support you whilst gently providing you with the time and space to take stock and ask yourself what are my desires, what do I really want from this life.

New beginnings can make you feel like everything is out of control, you feel overwhelmed and anxious, leaving you with your hands tightly over your eyes unsure where to look or begin. This lovely crystal inspires you to make wise choices, those types of choices that cultivate a confident outlook on life, to take the viewpoint that there is the promise of new potential and opportunity out there to have.

Moonstone a crystal to light up your path, remove the shadows and guide you forward to a bright future.

MOOKAITE  ~ Motivate

This crystal motivates you to move forward leaving all worries behind you. It points you in a forward direction saying, “no more living in the past.”

New beginnings come in all shapes and many disguises and when these changes appear suddenly Mookaite is the one to offer stability. It does its best to allay your fears and assists you in recognising there is nothing “out there” that you cannot handle, that you are far stronger than you think you are.

Mookaite, whilst providing the motivation will encourage you to take a chance and to seek out the adventure, hidden within the new situation that you find yourself in

Re-birth and changes are a natural part of our existence and Mookaite provides a sense of enthusiasm and passion for the constant flow of life.

Useful Crystals For Travel

I love to travel and explore the world, even if that world is just around the corner so to speak with my trusted camper van.  It is amazing what you can find within your own country as well as the delights to be found in countries far away.

If you are a crystal lover, you may already have your go to crystals that you take on every trip.  If not here are three crystals that you might want to consider to use as an aid on your travels whether by Air Sea or Road.

MALACHITE ~ Air

This crystal has become renowned as a guardian stone for travellers, make sure though when purchasing this crystal you buy the polished type, as Malachite can be toxic in its natural form.

With long haul flights comes the dreaded feeling of jet lag, Malachite is a crystal of change and transformation and as such, it is a great crystal to have about your person during and after the flight to combat the effects of this.  This superb stone will support you in making the bodily transition from one timeline to another.

Many people get agitated when just thinking about flying and even more so when on the plane itself.  Help yourself to ease any stress, nervousness or fear that you may be experiencing by holding Malachite during takeoff and landing or at those bumpy times sometimes encountered during the flight.  This crystal comes into its own to support you, furnishing you with strength for the journey and providing a protective path to your desired destination.

AQUAMARINE ~ Sea

There are many who would love to take a cruise of one sort or another or even just nip across from one port to the next on a ferry, but are put off by the thought of dizziness and nausea brought about from the rocking and swaying of a ship or boat.

In ancient lore, Aquamarine was held in high regard by seamen and it was their go to talisman, they used this crystal to provide them with a safe passage whilst providing them with the courage and protection required across the ocean waves.  Even today, this is a crystal still to be considered when taking to seas and waters.

Anxiety and fear have been found to lower a person’s threshold for experiencing motion sickness symptoms so Aquamarines soothing energies make it the perfect aid for calming any nerves and alleviating feelings of edginess.  The energetic flowing quality of this crystal provides a sense of structure, balance and order, which can be useful at those times when your body feels like it is swaying and struggling to make sense of the contradictory information it is receiving.

Aquamarine has a kinship with sensitive people, it just encourages you to just relax and go with the flow.  Using this crystal is like a breath of fresh air

SMOKEY QUARTZ ~ Road

Whether driving locally or over long distances that bring you to unfamiliar surroundings, Smokey Quartz is a fabulous stone to have with you.

This crystal can be used as a protective stone to shield you against the negative energies encountered with road rage.  It has the capacity to gently disperse those feelings of frustration and anger that we all experience at one time or another when stuck in traffic.  A great one to pop in the glove compartment.

Smokey Quartz is stone that has the capacity to enhance your attentiveness and vigilance which is a blessing when driving on our busy motorways, it assists you in having more awareness of your surroundings by grounding and anchoring your energies.  A crystal that is believed to offer some protection against mechanical breakdown too and one that can be used as a safeguard against accidents and bad luck.

You will be pleased to hear that all three crystals can be interchanged and used for any form of travel not just the ones referred to here, their attributes can be applied not just to the car or aeroplane but trains and other forms of transport too.

As always, trust your own inner judgement and select the crystals that resonate with you, but be sure to give them a good cleanse before travelling and during a long trip.

Three Crystals For Springtime Energies

As we have arrived at the spring equinox (20th March) from this day forward the days become longer than the night, Hooraah Hurrooo and skippy de doo.

At this time of year, we start feel a tad more positive about life and as Mother Nature wakes up, new shoots of growth start to appear pushing forth and breaking free from hibernation.

This is the perfect time to plant the seeds for our own new beginnings and growth and also to cleanse and raise our own vibration too.  There are quite a few crystals that you could choose to align yourself with of the energy of spring, I have selected just three though and I think they will work quite well for you at this time of year.

 BLACK TOURMALINE ~ Cleanse

Plant the seeds now in preparation for when the flowers start blooming, the birds are in full song and spring truly arrives.  A good spring clean in the home can mean having a darn good de-cluttering session, removing items that no longer serve you and as you do so, it delivers a sense of liberation and freedom.

That said, what about your energetic space, your home has probably been shut up tight all winter and with this, stagnant energy can start to build up and begin to make you feel well, quite weighed down.

For this reason I suggest Black Tourmaline, it is quite a useful crystal to have around your home as it has the capacity to transmute those stagnant lower energies such as those emitted from computers or other electronic devices into a higher and lighter energy.

It is known as a purification and protection crystal that can be used at any time to act as a barrier or buffer against any type of ill wishing.  Placing this stone by your front door has the gift of dispelling any lower energy that may cross your doorstep.

CHRYSOPRASE ~ Renewal

As you leave winter behind you may feel a tad unsure which direction spring is taking you, if so the crystal Chrysoprase has the ability to steer you in a favourable direction.

This earthy crystal encourages adaptability and asks you to recognise that just as nature has its seasons so do we.  Chrysoprase is full of spring potential; it stimulates your focus on manifesting new beginnings and assists you in being flexible so to and get the most out of any situation.  By revitalizing your dormant talents and creativity, it provides a new way to approach stale situations sweeping in originality and renewal.

This charming crystal endows you with a sense of optimism chasing away winter blues and aligning your thoughts with your actions it awakens within you a positively fresh way of thinking and doing

AVENTURINE ~ Growth

During the winter months, it is quite easy to play safe and just bob along quietly, putting things off until later.  However, when spring arrives it’s as if there’s a bit of a nudge, a reminder of those things that have been left on the shelf and that now perhaps is the time to move forward.

Aventurine has a slight sparkly appearance as if it’s winking at you and encouraging you to take a risk, to start again and to trust in life.  This crystal has the capacity to look after your welfare offering assurance that all will be well during periods of growth and expansion, be that starting a new project or going off in a brand new direction.  If you are willing to take a chance then this crystal will help, it is one of the luckiest of all crystals.

This marvellous crystal encourages adventures and the breaking of new ground.  It instils you with a sense of leadership and perseverance so you may grow and flourish.  Aventurine assists you in being creative in finding alternative solutions and looking at all opportunities to assist you in moving forward, it is a stone that encourages you to follow your heart and when you follow your heart you are ultimately on the right path for growth and abundance.

This green gemstone is one of prosperity and positivity and just like those early spring days, it imparts the energy of anticipation and promise.

There are many crystals which you can work with to cleanse or bring renewal and growth into your life, don’t be shy in trying crystals that you may feel drawn to.

A Quick Guide to Three Crystals for Self Love

Love it or loathe we  are in the month were many people celebrate Valentine’s Day, it always seems to come around somewhat quickly don’t you think?  Rather than looking at it from a traditional viewpoint of loving someone out there, I thought I’d take the opportunity and turn tradition on its head and go from looking out there for love to looking inward and loving your-self.

Many people say it is difficult to find the “me” time required to turn inward for some self-loving, so it gets put on the shelf and forgotten about.  But self-loving is so important as it raises the vibration of every cell in your body; it allows you to recognise that you are just as important as all those things, distractions and other people who take up your time.  It tells your whole self that you are worthy and that you honour and value yourself.

With all this self-loving in mind, I have selected three crystals to assist you in healing and loving your very own personal self.

Kunzite

Kunzite is a beautiful crystal that will assist you in healing any underlying emotional problems connected to your heart.

If others have emotionally hurt you in the past, this crystal will serve its purpose by opening your heart.  It lends a hand for self-observation so you are able to recognise, break down and let go of any protective walls that you may have previously built and by doing so you will eventually feel a profound sense of freedom by being able to express your heart felt feelings.

Kunzite loves to heal your emotional self and let joy and happiness flow into your life.

Rhodonite

This crystal is like that good friend who ultimately has your best interests at heart.

If you have a tendency to put yourself last or always forget about your own needs then the energy of Rhodonite will encourage you to recognise that doing this is a self-harming habit.

It is a crystal that offers you its heartfelt support, it wants to guide you so you recognise that your own needs are just as important as others, it boosts, nurtures and reinforces feelings of self-love.

Rhodonite is a fabulous crystal that will do its best to remove any self-destructive behaviours and it will work with you, encouraging you to create the time and space for personal care whilst easing in feelings of self-love.

Rose Quartz

One of the most popular crystals related to love; it would be difficult to leave it out, with its beautiful energies it seeks to promote unconditional love.

A truly gentle stone, Rose Quartz will help you in appreciating the true essence of all the love and beauty that is within and beyond you.  It is a crystal to open your heart on all levels.

This loving and giving crystal awakens the knowledge that within you there is deep-seated unconditional love, it has always been there.  This unconditional love is for you yourself also, to love yourself fully despite what you may see as flaws or failures.

Rose Quartz reminds you to love and accept yourself unconditionally.

These are just a few of the many crystals available, which relate to love and the energetic heart, you may be drawn to others if so go with them, trust your instinct and follow your heart.

Three Crystals For When Your Willpower Starts To Wobble

OK so you made a New Year’s resolution you were full of good intentions, you really meant it as the words fell from your mouth.  You still are I hear you say, but the occasional wobble keeps creeping up on you and nearly tipping you over the edge.

The chocolate biscuit shouts “EAT ME” louder by the day!

The trainers for jogging look less appealing by the minute!

Here we have three crystals to assist in boosting your willpower and to see you through to success.  They all can help you to stick to your New Year Resolution, or shall we just say goal as it doesn’t seem quite as daunting as the full-blown hanging around the neck type of RESOLUTION does it?

Tiger eye

If your Solar Chakra becomes unbalanced or weak you may find that your self-discipline is also weakened and that your energy becomes scattered.  When this happens it can be difficult for you to maintain the energy required for self-control and restraint, hence your willpower falls to the wayside.

Tigers Eye is a crystal that will work nicely with your 3rd Chakra (above your navel/belly button) by creating emotional stability and strengthening your resolve and will.  It can be used as an aid for putting to bed any fears of failure that you may be experiencing.

This is a crystal that encourages you to move forward in a most positive way providing the motivation required to achieve your goals including any resolutions that you may have recently made but are struggling to maintain.

Red Jasper

A lively crystal that creates stability and balance by keeping you grounded.  At those times when you find you are drifting from your intended goal this vibrant energetic crystal can be utilised to endow you with the grit, determination and staying power required to keep you on track.

This dynamic crystal has the capacity to help you recognise that it is you and you alone that can bring your goal to fruition, it will assist you with the drive and energy to fend off any stumbling blocks that you may encounter along the way.

Red Jasper is useful if your aim is physical fitness as slowly but surely it will stimulate your stamina whilst boosting your strength and endurance at those times when your energy is low.

Black Onyx

This crystal is a good one to grab when your resolve is dwindling as it has the capacity to increase your strength of character enabling you to sustain an element of self-control.

If you are trying to keep off those chocolate biscuits but your determination is weakening and you are struggling with self-restraint then Onyx is a crystal that will assist you by enhancing your own personal power whilst offering you a constructive outlook and the conviction required for your success.

Black Onyx is quite an unassuming crystal that will support you in maintaining the focus and direction required, along with the staying power and discipline needed to keep you focussed on the task in hand.

So remember if (not when) your willpower starts to wobble like the proverbial summer jelly then using one or all of these crystals will enhance your willpower and provide you with the perseverance necessary in achieving your desired goal or resolution.

Have you used crystals for willpower? I’d love to hear which one you used and how effective they were for you.

Crystals for Colds and Flu

There was I, nose to the grindstone, ploughing my way through the last events of the year, posting packing orders, and greeting the last few clients for treatments before the Christmas break.

By the start of January I was sporting a red nose that Rudolph would have been proud of and feeling as if I’ve been personally selected to be kicked by the hooves of all the reindeers that pulled Santa’s sleigh.

Ok so I didn’t take my own advice of self-care by listening to the needs of my body, I’m human, it happens. I ignored the tell-tale signs, squeezing and stretching out that last bit of energy before the holiday.

If you have pushed the boat out too and forgot to anchor your energy and look after your wellbeing, here are 5 tips to help you get back on track.

*****

1. As soon as you start notice the symptoms of cold or flu treat yourself to a long soak with a really good handful of Pink Himalayan Rock Salt crystals. They will work wonders at detoxifying your entire body whilst easing those aches and pains.

2. Keeping a Fluorite tumble-stone within your Auric field can be used as an aid for dispelling the symptoms that are associated with common colds or flu, especially at the early stages. Fluorite assists by cleansing and purifying.

3. If you are feeling wiped out and lacking energy then a Carnelian crystal will set you on the road to recovery by stimulating your immune system and providing a much needed boost to your life force energy which has probably taken a nose dive.

4. Utilising Clear Quartz when your muscles and bones are aching will serve you well as it’s one of the best crystals around for pain relief and the perfect stone for amplifying the qualities of any other crystals that you may choose to use.

5. Easier said than done I know, but rest as much as you can and drink plenty of fluids. Be kind to yourself, you don’t have to fight through feeling unwell, honour yourself and your body, let it be your guide to your wellbeing.

*****

If you are going to use crystals as a complimentary method of recuperation, wearing them as jewellery, putting them in a pocket or under your pillow are all good ways of receiving their benefits.

If you would like a crystal elixir I’d advocate the indirect method and place your chosen crystal at the side of a glass of water for around half an hour, the water will take on the vibration of the crystal and you will receive the energetic benefits when drinking the water.

Remember to cleanse your crystals frequently whilst using them to recuperate and do not be afraid to use a crystal that isn’t renowned for colds or flu if you feel drawn to it, there will be a reason by it is more suited as we are all different.

Crystals for Christmas Day

CRYSTALS FOR CHRISTMAS DAY

Christmas day is like no other and the expectations we place upon ourselves for the day itself can be very weighty. Here are four crystals to consider which can assist you on the festive day itself.

BLUE LACE AGATE

Christmas around the dinner table can sometimes be a fraught affair. If you are having neighbours or extended family joining you it may leave you wondering how everyone will get on.

It’s a great idea to place some Blue Lace Agate around a candle on the dining table, this will encourage friendly discussions and thoughtful conversations allowing everyone to express themselves without the fear of being judged.

SUNSTONE

You might like to consider Sunstone if Christmas day is not a happy time for you and the whole Christmas experience leaves you feeling sad and blue.
This lovely stone will add a happy warm glow to your day leaving you with a feeling of contentment. Even if you’re just all Bah Humbug, Sunstone will still share with you its cheery disposition.

AMBER

Amber is for you if you have been up since the crack of dawn watching children open their presents, stuffed the turkey, cooked Christmas day dinner, cleared it all away and are now slumped on the sofa surveying the carnage around you and wondering, who will do the tidying and washing up before the next round starts.

Unfortunately, Amber does not wave a magic wand, but can provide you with that last bit of Va Va Voom energy to get it all done.

LEPIDOLITE

If Christmas day has left you fraught and anxious, then choose Lepidolite to provide you with some calm and tranquillity. Keep one in your pocket as a soothing stone to promote emotional stability and balance throughout the day.

This charming crystal will assist you in overcoming the days stresses and strains, leaving you feeling more relaxed and at ease.

Although these crystals can be used as a great support for Christmas Day, don’t forget they are not limited to the day itself, their attributes are there for you all year round.

Please share the post if you find it useful and if in the past, you have used crystals over the Christmas period, I’d love to hear about it and how they helped.

March:~ Let It Go

LET IT GO!

Well it’s been a busy few weeks, in fact it’s just been none stop busy, and I am going to admit a tad too busy for my liking, do you ever feel that way?  It’s surprising how busyness sneaks up on you really isn’t it, there you are mooching along at a happy rate and suddenly someone somewhere turns up the speed on the conveyor belt of life, you start to smell burning and realise it’s you.. You’ve blown a fuse and everyone around you is hiding for cover, sound familiar?

I’ve fallen off that conveyor belt a couple of times during my life, dusted myself down and got back on before even taking a breath.  Fortunately I have learnt over the years that it’s that jumping back on without looking round and taking in the situation that can lead to burnout.  But this time as I was deeply engrossed in too much busyness a little song started in my head ….Let it go Let it go….you know, the one from Frozen.

It made me sit up and take note, I considered perhaps I wasn’t behaving in a healthy manner and the situation was not good for my well-being.  I hope you too can recognise that little nudge that we all get, be it subtle words or even like myself that song which makes you sit up and notice when life is running on fast forward.  And then realise it’s time to let go.

So I’m over and out for this blog and I’m off to gaze at an Aquamarine ….See below.

AQUAMARINE

Here is the crystal for March, the word Aquamarine is said to originate from an old Latin expression meaning sea water, so you can see how this crystal obtained its name. With its beautiful sea blue colour, just gazing at it transports you calmly to an exotic beach location.  It obtains its colour and hardiness from iron impurities trapped within and the darker the blue the more desirable and therefore expensive Aquamarine becomes.

Often used in crystal therapies as a general tonic it can also be used as an aid for balancing the thyroid and pituitary glands.  This lovely stone is thought to assist in understanding oneself on a deeper level helping you to interpret how you feel, helping to bring closure to inner difficulties. It is a stone of courage which is why ancient seafarers were said to always carry one.

With its calming colour Aquamarine helps with tolerance on all levels, working with the throat Chakra it assists in communication calmly and serenely.  It has also been attributed for improving vision.

Have a look  in  Wisdom of Wellbeing shop  at our Aquamarine pendants which are in the sale. You can also find a page on therapies there too.

Every month we have a “product of the month” with a discount and this months product (March) is the Mother of Pearl necklace with 10% off until 31st March 2017 using code MARCH17 at the checkout.

So in the meantime, enjoy all that March has to offer and remember if it all gets too much LET IT GO!.

Wishing you oodles of Crystal Rays and Happy Days,

Lorraine

February Where is the love?

WHERE IS THE LOVE?

Well I don’t know about you, but for me January has been a funny old month.  I could have gone down the hysterical route a couple of times if I had allowed myself, and I don’t mean in the hilarious sense either.  If you’d told me Mercury was in retrograde for the whole month I would have believed you, everything and anything played up.

Now we are here bobbing along into February and I for one am hoping for a smoother ride. With February comes Valentine Day, so come on hands up how many of you know that you are going to be receiving flowers, chocolates, little pieces of jewellery or in the case of a proposal maybe a big piece of jewellery for Valentines.

I had desires for a Valentines demonstration of some sort or another for many a year, about 30 to be precise, (I have a lot of stamina) I waited in vain…it never happened.  My other half never did give way to what he called “commercialism” he just didn’t buy into it.

I remember one time I decided not to bother buying him anymore Easter eggs, I’d done this consistently every year since we met. If you don’t like commercialism I thought, then my Easter egg offering just might make you choke!  Yes I was indignant

It’s so obvious now that I was looking for an outward demonstration of love and relying on Valentine Day for that, it can be difficult watching lines of bouquets arriving in your workplace with friends and colleagues excitedly talking about Valentine weekends away and Valentine meals in or out, whilst in the meantime having nothing to add to the conversation, apart from “Oh that’s nice”.

Eventually I saw the bigger picture and came to a place where I accepted that much love was offered to me every day, if only I’d look.  I didn’t feel the need for a token gesture anymore, I recognised I had someone who stayed through thick and thin, who offered multitudes of little things every day and gave me huge space to grow and just to top it off brought a fantastic sense of humour to the relationship.  Most of all as cliché as it sounds, I found the place to love myself so it was no longer a demand on someone else.

The point I’m making is, rather than projecting outwards on to others for our fulfilment, if we take a deep breath and start to take a good look inside our own self and perhaps ask “why is there this need in me, what is it saying to me?”  We are then able to resolve the anguish that we ourselves create.

When my husband hears it’s so and so day, it does rather irritate him and he still makes comments saying “days for this”, “days for that”, but it doesn’t matter to me any more.

If though, Valentine Day rubs you up the wrong way and you have sentiments like I used to, with tongue in cheek, I found a couple of other “days” in which you can celebrate that may be more acceptable to you or your partner.  Are you ready?

National Frozen Yogurt Day (I kid you not) First Monday in February.

Not quite what you were looking for?  Then how about…..

Open That Bottle Night (Not sure people will wait for this) Last Saturday in February.

AMBER

Amber a crystal for February

Amber has captivated humans for thousands of years and over that time in medicinal terms has become known as the Elixir of Youth.  Warm to the touch and associated with the sun it is a favourite of many.

It is not strictly a Crystal but is embraced as such due to its fabulous healing qualities and sunny disposition.  Amber is actually a fossilized tree resin which often has insects or plant material entombed within.

This organic resin has been used for centuries as a pain relief and also to boost vitality.  It is believed to remove restrictions and melt rigid attitudes that we ourselves have created.  It also has the ability to protect us against outside influences.  You can place a piece of Amber on your Solar Plexus to enhance creative expression and enthusiasm for life.

Any captured insects or plant material found within the Amber will energetically enhance it with those same inherent qualities.

Visit the Wisdom of Wellbeing shop  or view our newly listed Amber pendants.   Have you seen our February product of the month  there’s a 25% discount using code feb25 at the checkout (until February 28th 2017)

You can also find a page on therapies there too.

So in the meantime, enjoy all that February brings whether it is bouquets of flowers or frozen yogurt.

Wishing you oodles of Crystal Rays and Happy Days,

Lorraine
